Christmas Trees

Christmas Trees

Market Report

We have now spoken to most of the market traders that we supply in Bristol, Cardiff, Bradford and London wholesale markets , the general consensus of opinion is the same, the larger trees were harder to find and the smaller trees plentiful, the trees from Europe that come over on sale or return historically did not amount to much, with limited availability. The prices were good at the beginning of December but dropped very sharply (and more than normally) after the second Sunday.

Most of the traders were saying that the multiples stocking trees, i.e.: Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s had an immediate impact on their trade because it was the smaller retailers that they mostly and historically supplied and which is their direct competition.
